YellowArmadillos Pledge

.
Grover Norquist has a lot of Republicans taking his pledge and swearing that they will not raise taxes.

I understand there is a group of Congressional Democrats who are formulating an analogous pledge for the left that they will not vote for any entitlement cuts.

I'm taking the YellowArmadillos Pledge: I will not vote for anyone who has taken a pledge that will keep them from being part of the solution to our fiscal problems.

  1. Totally agree. They have to realize the exact opposite of the two major parties' priorities are what we need to happen - namely that entitlement spending needs to be trimmed, defense spending needs to be cut AND we need more tax revenue.

  2. It is possible, perhaps even probable, that we shall see a number of political contests where, under the pledge, no candidate would be eligible for our vote. Potentially even the Presidential contest in 2012 in which case I would surely renege. So I won’t pledge, but I share the sentiment.
