Gay ducks

Jon Stewart and Bill Maher et. al. relentlessly ridicule Christianity and the loony left never raises a peep.

But one little quack about homosexuality and they go berserk.

Voltaire's definition of freedom of speech was:  "I disagree with everything you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."

The American left's definition of freedom of speech is:  "If I disagree with you, I will call it hate speech and shut you down if I can."

I am pleased to note that several gay folks I know have publicly condemned this hypocrisy.

  1. I too have a have a very good friend that is gay and condemns this type of hypocrisy.

After the Phil Robertson controversy occupied the news cycle for a couple of days I broke down and looked up his actual remarks. The ones that caused such a national uproar. While his remarks were a little edgy for today’s environment they were clearly his opinion.

The Voltaire quote is appropriate. Phil had a right to make his statements and GLAAD and Stewart and Maher have aright to react to his remarks. That having been said the reaction on the left to Phil’s remarks is astounding and that “the reaction” should be the news story.

  2. Jesse Jackson has compared the "Duck" incident to the Rosa Parks incident. See his remarks here http://www.deadline.com/2013/12/jesse-jackson-calls-phil-robertson-more-offensive-than-rosa-parks-driver/

gays are not social terrorists - thats the difference.

also last time i checked - christians weren't gassed in ww2 unlike the gays ... nor was being christian illegal in USA - unlike being gay was illegal until 1976.

yeah what a great comparison. hahaha.

    1. Clever tactic.
      Label your opponent's terrorists!
Therefore they do not have a right to participate in the debate.

    2. As a secular individual I have always been puzzled why some secular individuals perceive Christians as a threat. I am equally puzzled that the perception of threat rises to the level of social terrorist. Interesting.

    3. Christopher – If you are saying that Christians are social terrorists and that gays are not social terrorists you would have to be saying that gays are not Christians. While the Gospels define homosexual activity as a sin I am quite sure that Christians do not reject gays on that basis and I am also sure that many gays do not reject Christianity on that basis.

  4. I think that we should look on the light side. The racism mongers are reduced to silly incidents like this to sell their wares. For example:
MICHAEL ERIC DYSON: “Phil Robertson and the "Duck Dynasty" is part of a majority white supremacist culture that either consciously or unconsciously incubates hatred toward those who are different.” (MSNBC's Now with Alex Wagner, 12/27/2013)
Perhaps they literally cannot distinguish between a difference of opinion and hatred.
