I just heard Senator John McCain describing the agreed to consequences of "failure" by the budget supercommittee as being "aspirational". That is, they might not do what they said they were going to do. That is, what was promised to get the debt ceiling increase approved was just another insincere promise.
I am moving closer and closer to believing that we should take everyone of these clowns that are up for reelection next year just vote them ALL OUT.

I will second the motion to kick the bums out.
ReplyDeleteAs an observation I believe the OWS and Tea Party movement would both agree (on kicking them out) and I am not sure what that really means, but it must be profound.
As a historical note the Congress members elected in the 2010 elections under the Tea Party banner that stuck to their guns and demanded cuts (at the time) in the debt ceiling debate were vilified by almost everyone.
Raising the debt ceiling was a negotiating point and we have none now unless you consider another down grade by Moody’s as an incentive. I suspect that the threat of a second downgrade will compel no one to action.
