Ben Stein and Obamacare

Ben Stein actually made this quote last year, but I just ran across it today.

"Fathom the hypocrisy of a government that requires every citizen to prove they are insured...but not everyone must prove they are a citizen."

Now add this, "Many of those who refuse, or are unable to prove they are citizens will receive free insurance paid for by those who are forced to buy insurance because they are citizens."

In this quote Ben has conflated the issues of healthcare with the issue of immigration.

Questions:  Should the issues be argued separately or as an integrated topic?

  1. If both are true then they should be connected and the combination is a sad commentary on the government.

    1. I will agree and go one step further. It is a sad commentary on citizens since we, as citizens, are the government.
