Are you Serious?

.
The title was the answer that Nancy Pelosi gave when someone asked her which of the delegated powers of Congress was the one on which Obamacare was based. She apparently couldn't believe that Congress was required to be concerned about their authority granted by the Constitution.

You can see a conservative view of what it means at:Constitutional Contempt and a liberal view atA Moment of Silence for Obamacare.

Just on the side: "Does the Federal Government have a right under the Constitution to pass a law that will bankrupt the country?"

  1. The articles by liberal authors that have proliferated following this week’s proceedings at the SCOTUS clearly echo Ms. Pelosi’s “Are you Serious” remark. It appears that some (many) of the authors are truly astounded that the SCOTUS is taking the challenge to the individual mandate “seriously”.

I have seen the broccoli question ridiculed in numerous articles as being completely off the charts in the silliness category. Actually we have already seen an interpretation of the mandate that requires purchasing contraception products. The leap between birth control pills and broccoli does not seem all that ridiculous to me.
