The Rs win in AZ

They say that unless the Republicans recognize that Hispanics are the fastest growing minority they are going to lose a lot of elections.

In this argument "recognize" means vote for whatever "pro-Hispanic" legislation is being pushed at the moment. If it encourages illegal immigration well then that is just what the Rs are going to have to accept in order to woo the Hispanic vote.

In Arizona the Rs have not been doing that and they just won big in the 2010 elections.

Maybe "they" are wrong. Maybe being an Hispanic American does not necessarily mean that you support every proposal that comes down the line that promotes more illegal immigration.

Maybe.

  1. Now that is a very intriguing question! The ability to divine how others with backgrounds radically different from your own will response in a world with almost infinite variables takes a rare person indeed. I freely admit that I do not have that ability. A state, Arizona, with a large Hispanic population voting for Republicans seems unlikely even though true. I can’t formulate a reasonable hypothesis on this one. Please, someone jump in with a theory.

  2. I will continue with the one already suggested.

Perhaps there are a lot of Hispanic Americans who would agree that in that label American is the noun and Hispanic is only an adjective and maybe they think American is the important part.

    Perhaps?
